According to Dr. Toni LaMotta, the Midlife Mentor, if you're thinking
about reinventing yourself the first step you need to take is to "get
clear". Getting clear can involve getting rid of old stuff that's
bogging you down. It can include settling old debts, forgiving others
and yourself, or making amends. Whether it's physical possessions or
old emotional baggage, letting go of it can free you to create what's
next. It can also involve ditching old relationships that get in your
way like friends who aren't really friends, and hanging out with new
people.
Getting clear can also be about clarifying what you
don't want so you can determine what you
do want.
Toni
loves to help people "get clear" so they can rediscover themselves. She
says "being clear is more important than doing" and encourages people
to allow their lives to give them the answers.
